1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how SGAMS (sgams.de) collects, uses, and protects personal data. SGAMS is the data controller. We are registered in Germany and operate under EU law. All data processing complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
2. Data We Collect
Website Usage Data
When you visit sgams.de, we collect anonymised usage data including page visits, session duration, and device type. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. We use this data to understand how the site is used and improve its content.
Enquiry Form Data
When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, organisation name, and the content of your message. This data is used to respond to your enquiry and, if an engagement follows, to manage that engagement.
Engagement Data
Data shared during the course of an engineering engagement is processed under a data processing agreement. This is covered in the engagement contract.
3. Cookies
We use a single analytics cookie to collect anonymised website usage data. This cookie is set only if you accept cookies through the consent mechanism on this site. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that share data with advertising networks.
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser. The site functions fully without cookies.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. We may share data with sub-processors required for the operation of the site (hosting provider) or the delivery of engagements. All sub-processors are bound by data processing agreements and are located within the EEA.
5. Data Retention
Enquiry form data: 24 months from submission or the duration of the engagement relationship. Analytics data: 26 months in anonymised form. Engagement data: as required by applicable commercial and tax law (typically 10 years under German HGB).
6. Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact: [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority. In Germany, this is the competent state data protection authority (Landesdatenschutzbehoerde) or the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection (BfDI).
